Description
The Museum Store Association (MSA)* is seeking a Development/Fundraising Contractor or Company to secure a major sponsor for MSA’s signature annual advocacy campaign Museum Store Sunday.
Background
Museum Store Sunday is a global celebration that puts the spotlight on the mission-related products found at museum stores worldwide. Every year, consumers are encouraged to participate in shopping campaigns over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend for Black Friday, Shop Small Saturday, and Cyber Monday. In anticipation of these shopping event days, consumers plan their holiday purchases accordingly and as a result, retailers see a spike in sales. In 2017, MSA piloted a new and unique shopping campaign, Museum Store Sunday, sandwiched in the middle of these events. The seventh annual Museum Store Sunday is scheduled for November 26, 2023 and will span across the United States and abroad. To date, more than 2,000 independently operated museum stores are participating from all 50 states, and the District of Columbia, and from twenty-five countries on five continents. Museum Store Sunday is the annual day to shop conscientiously and support museum stores and their missions worldwide. Consumers are invited to BE A PATRON -- by purchasing quality gifts filled with inspiration and educational value found at museums and cultural institutions. Through their patronage of museum stores, consumers will experience and gain cultural appreciation and knowledge while knowing that proceeds from purchases at museum stores supports the missions and programming of their parent institution.
